I am writing to kindly inquire about the transit visa requirements for Kuwait in relation to my upcoming travel itinerary. (Frankfurt to Kathmandu)
I am a citizen of Nepal and hold an official (service) passport. My journey involves a 10-hour layover at Kuwait International Airport (KWI) on 13 July 2025, with the following details:
• Arrival: Pegasus Airlines flight PC860 from Istanbul at 04:30
• Departure: Kuwait Airways flight KU393 to Kathmandu at 14:40
Importantly, I am traveling without any checked-in baggage, carrying only cabin baggage.
I would like to ask whether, under these circumstances, I am required to obtain a Kuwait transit visa — considering that I may stay entirely within the airport transit area and not enter Kuwait territory formally.
Key Information
– Nationality: Nepali
– Passport Type: Official (service) passport
– Layover Duration: ~10 hours
– Checked baggage: None (carry-on only)
Could you kindly clarify:
1. Whether I can remain airside without requiring a transit visa?
2. If not, what is the procedure and requirement to apply for a Kuwait transit visa for my situation?
I would appreciate your official guidance so that I can make necessary travel preparations in a timely manner.
Thank you very much for your assistance.
